One of the fantastic things about French toast is that it can be made with typical thinly sliced sandwich bread. It won’t be as fluffy as brioche, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be able to enjoy it!
Cinnamon French Toast Recipe
No matter what type of bread you have at your disposal, as long as you stick to these fundamentals, you should be able to make a stellar breakfast.
- 8 slices of bread (preferably brioche)
- 1 cup of milk
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- ½ teaspoon of cinnamon
Use a shallow bowl or dish to whisk eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, sugar, and a pinch of salt. Preheat a pan or a skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter. Take a slice of bread and dip both sides of it into the egg mixture and wait for a couple of seconds for it to soak. Once it’s soaked, cook it on medium heat for about 4 minutes per side and add more butter if needed.
